There are many reasons for this:
- Only 5 starters (players can shine more)
- Each position could be glamorous (Usually scorers get the praise in team sports)

- Synonymous with shoe endorsements (sigs)
Because of this I feel many NBA fans follow players rather than teams. Especially international fans who don't have any connection to cities by birth. Naturally if players move, they're loyalties would spread too.

Re: What Makes Someone a Bandwagon Fan?

6. If they are wearing a Blue Star. YES Biggest bunch of bandwagoners in all of sports. If the Cows lose, no fan even saw the game or will acknowledge that football even exists. If they win they are booking their flight to the SB. Now as far as them wearing Cow swag, no big deal, it easy to wear that crap...in the Dallas area. Try being a fan of anything else here and even if your team just stomped the dog mess out of them "the cows are still better, they just had bad play calling or a bad ref."

Re: 2011 NBA Playoff Picks: Second Round

So much for C's in 4, ey?

Re: 2011 NBA Playoff Picks: Second Round

Interesting take on Heatles C'tles. I see it all the time on recent shows of 1st and 10 they start to get into this debate but then they stop because of the heated battles that arise from this topic.

They do raise some positive points for athletes using Twitter. When you hear them debating about it one side will always argue for Twitter because of the connections the fan has with athletes. With the opposing person arguing that Twitter is something that athletes need to stay away from because of the problems that it could present them.

Like you alluded to we cannot look at what everyone tweets as being the smartest choice but people will say and tweet anything. Some athletes need to have a little sense of what there about to say. But then again it’s marketing for the athlete. Their name and tweet get broadcasted for the world to see. For good or bad these people have more people now following them just to see what they will say next.

Do you not like knowing about your favorite star? What he might be thinking at a particularly time? I am sure you do just as much as the next sports fanatic. If you didn’t like getting a spur of the moment response, then why do we have reporters getting in the face of athletes just as the final whistle blows? It’s because were fan’s and what to know how their feeling and what their raw emotions are.

Social media is here and it does not look like it will be going away any time soon. It’s time to adapt and get involved with it so you’re not on the outside looking in.

Re: The Best Sports Experience: At the game, at the bar or at home?

I would say me personally, would rather be at the game then watch it on tv or at a local bar.....If I could buy or land some lower level tickets with a decent view, I'd go to any games, (except baseball just too boring)......Between the bar and watching it at home, I'd rather be at home because then I can listen to how the announcers are (which sometimes make the game more entertaining) and crack open a few beers and enjoy it with my friends.........I will tell you HD has made the game viewing at home a more watchable (if thats a word) experience. All in all, whether your at a game or watching it on tv, SPORTS= LIFE

Re: Top 10 Stories from Week 12 in the NFL

Exciting week. Hopefully the Bucs offense decides to show up this week.

Re: What defines the success of an athlete’s career: Championships or Stats?

"Even though the list of athletes that never won a championship is a very impressive list, the list of athletes that have, is just as impressive."

Chris, I completely agree with you on this one! Lets face it, in order to achieve the success that all athletes strive for, you need to win and win when it counts. It's so self fulfilling. It's what will always separate the two. Thanks for the comment!

Re: What defines the success of an athlete’s career: Championships or Stats?

Ultimately winning equals success!! It takes a superior athlete to motivate the people around them and rise to another level when it counts. Even though the list of athletes that never one a championship is a very impressive list, the list of athletes that have, is just as impressive. Just in basketball alone you got Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Hakeem the Dream, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robinson, and so many more. Just in basketball alone, these are athletes that have risen above and beyond when it counts and when they were under preassure. Stockton and Malone choked twice against Jordan and the Bulls. Perfect example of superior athlete versus great athlete. Nobody gave Kobe a shot when Shaq left, and he's the prime example of a superior athlete, and perhaps one of the top five greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. Championships equals greatest players and superior athletes! It's true in team sports and the olympics!

Re: Lebron James Racial Divide?

Definitely Thunder vs Lakers in the West....don't know about the east though. Got a lot of deep teams that Miami has to fight it's way through. Aside from the Celtics/Magic, you got the Hawks, Bulls, and even the Knicks or Bucks could pull a surprise upset against anyone...the east is definitely going to be the best conference to watch this year. My prediction remains though, the Heat will not make it to the finals in year one with the big three.

Re: Lebron James Racial Divide?

Chris, I agree with you about Roethlisberger, but as I said in the article, it's only common for people to hate the best players and the teams that are always winning. What boggles my Italian mind is that with all of this negative talk about LeBron and his decision, it's making him almost sound unrated. Lets not forget that he is the reigning MVP and the second best player in the NBA, behind Kobe. He is in his prime, only 25 years old and a beast on the court. As for your Conference Finals predictions, the Magic and Celtics will be solid contenders, but there is no denying how explosive the Heat will be. I'm going with Heat vs. Magic in the East and Lakers vs. Thunder in the West.

Re: Lebron James Racial Divide?

This video is fricken crazy! LeBron is just an idiot!! After what Brett Farve did last season, he should not be hated, he's a LEGEND!!! Rothlisberger should be on that list, Vick for sure, and Ochocinco is awesome!! LeBron most hated, is just giving him more hype than he deserves. The Magic have three players that combined make $10 million more than Wade, Bosh, and James, and they still have way more depth than the Heat. Like I said in my last post...it will be the Magic or the Celtics against the Lakers in the finals, and I pray it's the Magic!!!

Re: What Makes Someone a Bandwagon Fan?

Lovin the blog homeboy!! This is a good article...love top tens, countowns, and things like this...AND I'm definitely very upset about the HEAT bandwagon fans...we all know it's gonna be Celtics vs Magic in the east finals once again!!

Re: About Me

Yeah, I'd be happy to add the links.
